September TBR

Ended up separating this from my wrap up this month as it just turned into a very long post that I thought would just get boring! So here is the books I’m hoping to read this month; I’m trying to be realistic as I will have to make a serious effort with my uni reading this month. So here goes..My main focus for this month has to be Hard Times by Charles Dickens. This is my assigned reading for my next Open University module, and I have hardly touched it over the summer. Must admit, this is not the most exciting of the Dickens novels in my eyes, but ha I have to get on with it.

Virtue of War

This has been on my TBR for a while now I believe, both monthly and readathons. Its the first in a sci-fi series. SO far I am finding it a little slow to get it, but is proving to have a strong independent female protagonist. This was published by Titan book and was written by Bennett R Cole, I will be doing a review of the second book in this series.

A Darker Shade of Magic…

Again another that’s been on many TBR’s now. I really do not know why I have yet to pick this back up, but hopefully I will in the later days of this month.

The Way of Kings pt 1&2…

by Brandon Sanderson, who is my boyfriends favourite author, so I decided it would be a good idea to try one of his novels. I’ve seen this series doted around booktube, and does appear to be a popular high fantasy series, so I’m excited to see what I think. Though this is going to take along time as the two together are about 1200pages!!

Along with these I’m sure to dip into some graphic novels that I have been getting from my local library; I currently have Pride and Prejudice, Percy Jackson, and New Moon.

At the end of this month, there is a readathon which I believe is new. The Banned bookathon is a readthon with a focus on reading books that have either been banned or challenged from being available publicly. This is being run by Little book Owl, and runs from 25th September to 1st October. As far as I’m aware there are no other challenges other than to read banned books. Nearer the time I will be releasing a TBR and any updated information that I find out. Super excited about this one!! Below you can find the web address for the original video detailing the readathon…
