Hello and welcome to another blog tour; this time for an intense, twisting turning psychological thriller. This book is exactly the type of thriller that I love, fast paced, unexpected and messes with your mind to say the very least. I will say it now, this was fantastic and such a fast read; but lets get into this so I can tell you some more…I would like to start by giving a huge thanks for the opportunity to read and review this book, I was sent an ebook copy for my kindle by the lovely Jenny (@jennymarston_xo) and Diane Jeffrey herself.

Emily Klein doesn’t know she has killed her husband until the day of his funeral.

At first, signs point to a tragic accident. Yet, as Emily pieces together the events before his death – events which led to her own memory loss – she begins to suspect that her husband’s death may have been the result of more than a terrible twist of fate…

But the accident is only the beginning. Because while Emily’s physical scars will heal, the trauma of the accident has awakened old ghosts. She hears strange sounds, catches things that can’t possibly be there in the corner of her eye. Before long, everywhere she looks, she seems to see her husband.

This novel is told from two different periods of time, both the same point of view, one from when Emily was a child and the other in current day; normally, I would not always enjoy stories told from different times as I can find that it makes the story confusing to follow, and sometimes not be able to keep up with which time you are reading about. Although not done overly differently, I felt that for this story it really added to the understanding and emotional connection with the protagonist. I got so caught up with her past, I just wanted to get to these chapters each time to follow her history, I found myself just getting so connected and feeling sorry for the childhood that she had.

The way Emily acted in the current day would normally have me annoyed and feeling that she was being naïve and not necessarily acting in a manner that would make much of any sense; but as mentioned above, the novel also followed the key events of her childhood- for me this meant that I understood her. I got her uncertainty, and lack of confidence in herself; I did still fell like shaking her and telling her to go and get help, but I also didn’t find it half as annoying as normal.

I have one final point and that is that this novel was CREEPY! Though I mean that in the most positive of ways, as the creepy vibe from it had me turning page after page. Between real life and the possibility of psychosis, this novel had me so unsure about what was real, and what was not so real; I just had to know who or what was doing this to poor Emily. And the ending; the ending stopped me from being able to fall asleep. I just have to know what it means!!

All in all, I gave this 4 out of 5 stars- losing the one star for no particular reason. This novels is such a gripping quick read that I think any thriller reader really needs to pick up; you’ll fly through it – I read it in 2 days- and you will definitely not regret it.
