Booktubeathon TBR

Well this is a very last minute post as I have only just decided that I am going to attempt to participate in the BooktubeAThon 2016! I have never done a readathon, so this will be a brand new experience for me, but as its looking like I’m going to be off work again tomorrow, that give me plenty of time to read- with the exception of Friday and Sunday. I have formed this TBR following the reading challenge that have been set, however I do highly doubt I will get through them all….So the first challenge is ‘Read a book that has yellow on the cover’. For this I have chosen Terry Pratchett’s ‘Colour of Magic’, as nearly the whole cover is in fact yellow.

Challenge Number 2 is ‘Read a book only after sunset’. I wasn’t sure what to pick for this, as its getting dark here rather late and then gets light early, which isn’t going to work well for me who likes to sleep! But I have picked ‘To kill a Mockingbird’ by Harper Lee. Its quite a small book, so I am hoping I can get through it over the week just at night.

The third challenge is to ‘Read a book you discovered through Booktube’. A very easy challenge for me as I have brought loads of books because of booktube, but I decided on ‘ The winners curse’ by Marie Rutkoski. Its been sitting on my book shelf for about a year and a half now, so great opportunity to finally get round to it.

‘To Read a book by a favourite author’ is the fourth challenge, and I struggled to chose one for this, as most of my favourite authors write chunky books that I would not be able to complete in the time, either that or they are classics that again I would struggle to read quick enough. However I have picked one by Philippa Gregory which is ‘Stormbringers’. I wasn’t a fan on the first in this series but hopefully this will be an improvement.

Challenge the fifth is ‘Read a book that is older than you’, which is rather easy for me as I own many books which are originally older than my 20 years. I ended up going for the ‘Hobbit’ by JRR Tolkien. I believe I read this as a child, but cant remember if I finished it, so will possibly be a re-read.

And the hardest challenge for me was ‘Read and watch a book-2-movie adaptation’. Turns out I don’t have many books that I would be able to read in the time which have been turned into films. Though turns out one of the books I got from the library is now a film which is ‘If I stay’ by Gayle Forman. I will be attempting to read and watch, however I am not all that big on watching films lately so may pass up the film.

The last and final challenge is to read 7 books. This is almost 100% not going to happen, I am a slowish reader, and also get very easily distracted. However I will give it my best shot, and we’ll see what happens. I have not picked a specific book to be my seventh book as I will just see what I feel up for at the time, but I hoping for it to be ‘Duskfall’ by Christopher Husberg. This is an arc I was sent that I didn’t manage to get to before its release date, but I am still very excited to read it.
