June TBR

Now that I am finally seeming to be out of my reading slump, I have high hopes for this months TBR. June is a busy month for me though, as Im going away and have my boyfriends birthday, which does mean I will probably do very little reading for the first week of June. There is also a good chance that there is going to be an exciting big change happening in my life in June that will take up a lot of time over the month, but sadly at the time of writing this I do not have the permission to say much about it. But lets get started as I’m being rather ambitious.
I’m feeling rather ambitious about next month for some reason, I think because I’ve just started getting out of my reading slump and now want to read all the books. So I have two books that were on my list from last month and then just some books I feel like reading.

First book is the poll winner from last month which was Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I had meant to read this in May, but just never got around to it; it will be a reread so that I can then continue on with the series as I believe it is now complete.

Next I have the True Queen by Alison Weir. I started that in May, and have gotten about a quarter of the way through and was really enjoying it. I only put it down as wanted to read a book I was due to do a review for. I am very excited to finish this as I love this era of history and have read all of Philippa Gregory’s books set at this time.

With The True Queen, I also want to read the two short stories that go with this book as I have them downloaded on my Kindle; and they are Prince of Roses and The Blackened Heart. I believe these just give more information about some of the lesser characters in the main novel, with some short stories for each of the books.

The last book I have chosen for this TBR is The Baby’s Bones by Rebecca Alexander, which is a thriller that looks to have historical elements. I’ve been looking forward to this one and for some reason I am very in the mood for thrillers. I will probably be doing a review for this but will see how much I have to say about it after I’ve read it.

Then of course I have my Twitter poll book of the month. This month the options were, The Mermaid by Christina Henry, Our Dark Duet by VE Schwab, and Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo. And the winner of the poll was The Mermaid by Christina Henry. Im very happy with that pick as very excited to dive into another Christina Henry book!
