March Life Update

I’ll be perfectly honest with you, I was very tempted to not bother doing a March update for a few reasons. Firstly, not overly much happened, secondly I’ve not been in a very good space mentally. March Reads and April TBR

Well this month has really sucked reading wise for me. I read a book I had been really looking forward to for over a year, and it was just as fabulous as I was expecting- however that has then left me in a bit of a reading slump. Slowly I did get through some other books after that, but my whole reading speed slowed right down and I’m finding myself not wanting to read anything else. This is not helped by the fact I have a LOT going on in real life that is diverting my attention. Eagles in the Storm by Ben Kane

The conclusion to the Eagles of Rome trilogy this could not of been a better wrap up to the three books; I’d go as far to say that this was the best of the three. A historical fiction novel based around real life events that occurred during the time of the Roman Empire, this novel (and series) completely transported me back in time with each book; all three are just completely fabulous.. Why I read what I read…

I got this idea from a series of tweets that I saw one evening, sadly I’ve not been able to re-find them, but wanted you to know that this is not purely my idea. The tweets consisted of discussing whether it made you any less of a reader for reading some genres compared with other; YA compared to adult for instance. This struck me as curious as I read a large variety of genres and age ranges in books, but yet I still see each as just as much of a readers book as I do others. ‘Happy as a Dane’ by Malene Rydahl

This beautiful book is just bursting with joy and happiness. Rydahl, born in Denmark and now living in France, looks at the reasons behind Denmark’s status as the Happiest Country; giving real life examples and comparisons between various other countries. GIVEAWAY!! Happy as a Dane

YAY its competition time again, and I’m super excited for this one as I ADORE this book. I’ve talked about this a few times in the past, and for good reason, this is a really uplifting and positive book.

A non- fiction based on the reason why the  Danes are the happiest people on the planet, this is a must read. IT makes you stop and think about your own life, and has actually helped me to look at things differently to make me happier.

I read this book at a very difficult time in my life, but it really helped me to see the positive outlook to the most possible. If you are going through a rough time, or just want to make more out of your life, then this is a must read- plus it will leave you wanting to visit!!
