BoutofBooks Readathon Diary

I was so looking forward to this readathon; a full week with the excuse to read constantly. Ahead of the week I had tried to empty my week as much as possible so that I could really dedicate myself to this week of reading. However, as its past midday on day 4 that I’m even getting round to updating this says just how badly this readathon is going for me. Lets hope I can pull it back together.  Continue reading “BoutofBooks Readathon Diary”

December Wrap Up

Ah, this is just feeling so good, I am almost 100% back to my reading self. This is the second month that has gone fabulously well for reading, I’d say even more so than November! And I find that’s pretty surprising with Christmas and all the busy things that come along with that. Then again, I’m not as busy as others, and Christmas for my family involves a lot of doing what you want to do.  Continue reading “December Wrap Up”

Bout of Books TBR

YAY, its time for another readathon. I absolutely loved the minimoji readathon that I did the other month, so thought I might as well join in on the Bout of Books one!! I’m so excited to get started; but I have to wait till it starts on the 8th of January (the day this goes out actually). This is a week long readathon, that is very relaxed from my understanding; the only goal is to reach your own goal and read more than you normally would. Personally, I find this quite challenging as I’m terrible at setting my own goals, but going to give it a go never the less. So lets look at what I might read.  Continue reading “Bout of Books TBR”

January TBR

So very rarely do I actually manage to stick to a TBR. I’ve found that lately I am just such a mood reader; if I pick each book one at a time then I can get through so many more books than if I try to stick to a set TBR. Therefore, this year my TBRs are going to be books that I feel that I may want to read in that month, and then my wrap ups will tell you what actually happened. Should be fun to see just how good I am at guessing my mood for the month. Continue reading “January TBR”

‘Best Boy’ a novel by Eli Gottlieb

I begin this post by thanking Norton Books for sending me this lovely ARC, it was much appreciated. Written from the point of view of a autistic man, this book was both highly unique and intriguing as I had never read anything quite like it before. I gave this novel 4 out of 5 stars, but to be fair I’d say it was more like a 4.5-it had me gripped from the first chapter, and truly feeling sorry for Todd.. #CurrentlyReading

So I do rarely do this sort of post as, for a general rule, I read one book at a time- well other than the odd non-fiction on the side. But, as you can probably tell (as hey I am writing this post..), that has changed!!  Since finishing Ben Kane’s Hunting the Eagles, I have been in what I think is my biggest ever reading slump- I want to read, but just can’t find a book I can really get into. Hence the starting many books… So here we go, this is what I am reading.. Continue reading “#CurrentlyReading”
