Ben Kane is one of those authors that I constantly rave about. Although I have not finished reading all his books, I am yet to find one that I have been able to either put down or not love- and this one was no different. I had this book pre-ordered so that I got it the morning of the release day, and that was still not soon enough for my liking!This was the second of the Eagles series, and is set five years after the ending of ‘Eagles of War’. It follows a selection of the previous characters including Tullus and Piso, as they return to Germania, and begin to try and take back control over the tribes. I have to say it yet again, to begin with, March was a really bad reading month for me. It wasn’t until my little op, when I then couldn’t walk for a couple of days, that I actually managed to plough through a few books- and even those were short couple of hundred pagers. With all the festivities last month causing me to be very busy, my book haul did get left behind a bit. I managed only 3 books, but did spend the Christmas period working on Dracula- review to come as an individual post; yes, it is that good! As you have all probably picked up if you are following my blog, that I am a total bookworm. Each year I set myself a challenge, now using Goodreads, so that I am reading in order to try and achieve something. In 2015 I set myself the challenge of reading 24 books, planning on it being about 2 books a month. I am very proud to say that I exceeded this challenge, so I now know to set this challenge higher. To add, I’ve also got a different challenge to attempt in the new year…
