#CurrentlyReading

So I do rarely do this sort of post as, for a general rule, I read one book at a time- well other than the odd non-fiction on the side. But, as you can probably tell (as hey I am writing this post..), that has changed!!  Since finishing Ben Kane’s Hunting the Eagles, I have been in what I think is my biggest ever reading slump- I want to read, but just can’t find a book I can really get into. Hence the starting many books… So here we go, this is what I am reading.. Continue reading “#CurrentlyReading”

‘Hunting the Eagles’ by Ben Kane

Ben Kane is one of those authors that I constantly rave about. Although I have not finished reading all his books, I am yet to find one that I have been able to either put down or not love- and this one was no different. I had this book pre-ordered so that I got it the morning of the release day, and that was still not soon enough for my liking! This was the second of the Eagles series, and is set five years after the ending of ‘Eagles of War’. It follows a selection of the previous characters including Tullus and Piso, as they return to Germania, and begin to try and take back control over the tribes. And of course, find their lost Eagle standards. Continue reading “‘Hunting the Eagles’ by Ben Kane”

Sick of Sick…

Well I am pretty sure that this is something I have mentioned in the past,  but ha ho, it has cropped up once again. It’s pretty self-explanatory really, I am FED UP of being ill. Just a quick example, is that in the past few months, I have been ill with something or other every other week! Now I don’t know about you but that is just ridiculous- and I don’t mean just like a sniffle, its been flu, water infections and dodgy stomachs; and don’t forget the tiny cuts that turn into full blown, anti-biotic needing infections… Continue reading “Sick of Sick…”

March Reading Wrap Up

I have to say it yet again, to begin with, March was a really bad reading month for me. It wasn’t until my little op, when I then couldn’t walk for a couple of days, that I actually managed to plough through a few books- and even those were short couple of hundred pagers. But ha ho, that is the downside to life picking up. Definitely no serious complaints with that. So lets get to the books…. Continue reading “March Reading Wrap Up”

#HeadsTogether

I have been volunteering for MIND since January of this year, and was honoured when they asked me to go to Kensington Palace in order to take part in a top secret media opportunity. Mental Health is highly important and effects many people throughout the country; and now it is not just charity that are working to help and raise awareness- now three amazingly exciting VIPs are championing not only MIND but multiple mental health charities. These VIPs are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince Harry- and I got to meet them! Continue reading “#HeadsTogether”

My 5 top book releases of 2016

What can I say, I am almost 3 months late with this post, but many of these books still haven’t been released, so definitely still relevant. These are only the books that I am most excited about, and probably aren’t the most anticipated within the country, so sorry if a book isn’t mentioned that you wanted. Would love to hear if there was any that you are excited about, in the comments below.  Continue reading “My 5 top book releases of 2016”

Introduction to Gerbil Antics

Welcome to a brand new series on my little blog. Anyone who has followed me for a while will of realised that my little gerbils are one of my favourite topics to talk about; hence the creation of Gerbil Antics. This will just be a bit of fun, updating you all on the funny little traits and habits that the boys pick up and develop; however it will not be regular, it will purely be as and when they do something interesting  -or I get some cute photos- …IMG_0070 Continue reading “Introduction to Gerbil Antics”

What if the routine of school could be a trigger to Psychosis?

I will warn you now that this is a very controversial topic… But from the start, my psychiatrist has talked to me about the development of my imagination. How it developed from being so wild and creative, to pretty much ceasing to exist in the tradition manner; when my voices and hallucinations came through, to now where part of my recovery is through the use of my imagination…  Continue reading “What if the routine of school could be a trigger to Psychosis?”
